Aurore is a young Gabonese environmentalist and university student who is a member of the organization Forest-Source. During the dry season and summer break of 2000, she boards a train for the first time along with two teammates, leaving her home in Libreville for the beautiful Ogooué-Ivindo region on the other side of the nation. There, the trio travel between small villages and towns, aiming to persuade their residents to live harmoniously with the equatorial rainforests that they call home. If they are to succeed, Aurore and her fellow ecologists must confront issues in their society and the reality of day-to-day life for those living in the heart of the rainforest.
